Table 20-1 Configuration items for creating a MAC address entry

Item

Description

MAC

Set the MAC address to be added.

Type

Set the type of the MAC address entry, which can be:

static: Indicates static MAC address entries that never age out.

dynamic: Indicates dynamic MAC address entries that will age out.

blackhole: Indicates blackhole MAC address entries that never age out.

The types of the MAC address entries displayed in the tab are as follows:

Config static: Indicates static MAC address entries manually configured by the users.

Config dynamic: Indicates dynamic MAC address entries manually. configured by the users.

Blackhole: Indicates blackhole MAC address entries.

Learned: Indicates dynamic MAC address entries learned by the device.

Other: Indicates types other than the ones mentioned above.

VLAN

Sets the ID of the VLAN to which the MAC address belongs.

Port

Sets the port to which the MAC address belongs.

Setting the Aging Time of MAC Address Entries

Select Network > MAC from the navigation tree, and then select the Setup tab to enter the page for

setting the MAC address entry aging time, as shown in

Figure 20-4
