Things to consider before upgrading
Networking the R320.0 and R400.0 Servers
For Non-Redundant Servers
1. Logon to the old R320.0 Server as plx_user.
Use the following procedure to map a drive to the new R400.0 Server.
2. Click Start
⇒
Run.
3. Key in this command in the Open entry field:
>cmd<
and click OK to open the DOS window.
IMPORTANT
ProcessLogix systems are required to replace the
system with new hardware and operating system for
ProcessLogix R400.0 Server use.
The procedures in this section assume that the old
ProcessLogix R320.0 system(s) and new ProcessLogix
R400.0 system(s) are different PC hardware.
The new R400.0 system is required to be fully up and
configured at this stage. It should be configured on
the same network as your R320.0 system. If you need
to install ProcessLogix R400.0 on your Server(s), refer
to Installing ProcessLogix Software on a Clean PC on
page 3-1.
It also assumes that the systems are both on the
network and accessible to each other. This requires
that they each have a different name and unique
TCP/IP address for each network card.
