PROFIBUS DP Topology Specifications
The following PROFIBUS specifications are independent of the
interface to ProcessLogix:
•
PROFIBUS DP supports a maximum of 126 station addresses,
including, masters, slaves and active repeaters.
•
The maximum number of entries in the PBIM configuration table
is 100.
ProcessLogix/PROFIBUS Interface Topology Specifications
•
The SST-PFBCLX module is not a redundancy compliant device
and therefore cannot be introduced into a controller rack of a
redundant controller configuration. However in non-redundant
applications, the module can be deployed in either the
controller rack or a downlink I/O chassis.
•
The PBIM block can support a maximum of 100 unique
modules, identified by a unique station/module number
combination.
•
The PBIM block imposes the following constraints, which may
affect the number of slave stations/devices supported:
– The sum of all input message sizes from all input devices
cannot exceed 496 bytes.
– The sum of all output message sizes from all output devices
cannot exceed 492 bytes.
Configurable Values for FF function block Execution Periods. (Since 250 ms period is not
compatible with the CM’s 200 ms period, it should only be used for control if the entire
loop is resident on a Fieldbus link.)
