Tuning this parameter changes the overall effect of the foreground
Application response. For ProcessLogix Clients the selection should be
Optimize performance for Applications. ProcessLogix Server is
supported only on Windows 2000 Server.
The Server consists of the:

ProcessLogix Server components
•
Engineering Repository/SQL components
Although client applications can run on the Server itself, they
will receive poor performance. Rockwell Automation does not
recommend using the Server as a Client Station.
Kernel Tuning changes the way the Operating System assigns tasking
priorities. Server allows more tuning options and is actually a two-step
process. Step one involves setting the Application Response. Step two
involves tuning the Server Service.
Application Response
Adjust the application response. First decide whether or not you will
run applications on your Server. (Control Builder, Station, Excel, etc.)
The recommendation is that you do NOT run applications on the
Server Right-click the My Computer icon on the Desktop.
1. Right-click My Computer.
2. Choose Properties.
3. On the System Properties Window that appears, choose
Advanced.
4. In the Performance Section, click Performance Options.
