10-14 New Functions and Features

Graphical customization of toolbar and menus, including text
buttons on the toolbar and toolbar icons in menus.

Note: due to the change in format of the menu and toolbar
configuration files, menu and toolbar configuration from previous
releases of ProcessLogix must be reapplied using the new user
interface.

Note: This version of Station does not support Operator keyboards
like the IKB and USKB. This is planned for the next major release of
ProcessLogix.

This new version of Station employs a lot of technology supplied by
Internet Explorer. As such it requires Internet Explorer v5.5 on any
machine that’s accessing plant data, whether it’s via the Station
framework or Internet Explorer itself. Internet Explorer v4.0 and v5.0
cannot be used. Additionally because of the changes required to
support HTML, the following functionality is no longer supported:

Character-based displays

Direct serial connections to the server or terminal server. (This is
distinct from using TCP/IP over a serial connection using RAS,
which will continue to be supported).

HMIWeb Runtime Browser

The new version of Station continues to be the user interface most
appropriate to the operational environment. However, for users who
require more casual access to process data, this version of
ProcessLogix now supports the ability to view and control displays
using Internet Explorer version 5.5. This support includes the ability to
display both HTML and DSP pages within the browser window. All
such displays are fully functional, and include the ability to control
process data as well as view it.

The following functionality is part of the HMIWeb Runtime Browser in
ProcessLogix R400.0:

ProcessLogix logon and security management

Alarm acknowledgement

Status zone information

Activation of a display through a single URL
