Checking for Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6a
R320.0 systems should already have the service pack applied. To
verify the current Service Pack level, perform the following steps:
1. Click Start
⇒
Run.
2. Key in winver in the Open entry field and press Enter.
3. In the About Windows NT window, you should see the systems
service pack level. Below, you should see a value “Revised
Service Pack 6a”. If it says anything lower than Service Pack 6a,
then it is required that you upgrade. If the system is already at
Service Pack 6a, then this step can be skipped.
Installing Service Pack 6a for Windows NT 4.0
1. Insert the ProcessLogix R400.0 Software CD 2 into the CD-ROM
drive.
2. Click Start
⇒
Run.
3. Key in this path location in the Open entry field or use Browse
to navigate to the sp6i386.exe file on the CD.
IMPORTANT
Be sure to logon as ps_user. If you don’t have a user
ps_user account, you must create one at this time.
Refer to Creating the ProcessLogix User Accounts on
page 2-26.
IMPORTANT
Your client system should be running Service Pack
6a. If it is not running Service Pack 6a, follow this
procedure to install it.
TIP
If you received your Client PC from the manufacturer
with Windows NT preinstalled with 128-bit
components, you may need to download the High
Encryption Version of Service Pack 6a.
