New Functions and Features 10-13

Display Builder, denoted with a “.dsp” file extension. All existing
customer displays will continue to be fully functional within the new
version of Station. In order to seamlessly support these displays this
new release of ProcessLogix is shipped with both versions of Display
Builder, so that the choice of which file format to use is completely up
to the user.

The following enhancements are brought to ProcessLogix when using
HTML displays:

16 millions colors for dynamic objects

Display of pop-up windows created by the HMIWeb Display
Builder

Automatic downloading of displays via HTTP for casual access

Thumbnail preview of displays in Explorer

Dashed and dotted lines

Improved image support (GIFs, PNGs) and transparent images

More flexible parameterization of shapes

Multiple arrow styles

ActiveX control support. If ActiveX controls not supplied by
Rockwell Automation are used as part of an HMIWeb display,
Rockwell Automation supports these displays like any other
third party applications

In addition, the new version of Station supports a number of general
enhancements, which apply when using both HTML and DSP
displays, including:

The ability to browse points on the server for easier entering of
point IDs. An example of its use is for adding point IDs to
trends.

Ability to page forward and backward in Station, including
drop-down list boxes similar to Internet Explorer allowing the
operator to jump forwards or backwards several pages at a time.

Display fields as pop-up data tips if they are truncated and the
user hovers above them with the mouse. This feature is useful
for long strings of data like a long parameter name.

New connection creation/management dialog.
