3-2 ProcessLogix Server Installation Procedures
Installing Server Software
Use the following procedure to install these ProcessLogix software
components on a clean PC in succession.
•
SQL Server
•
Knowledge Builder
•
RSLinx OEM 2.3
•
Engineering Tools
•
Client/Server (Display Builder, Station, and Server)
1. Logon as ps_user.
2. Close any running applications.
IMPORTANT
Redundant Servers Directory Structures
If you have redundant Servers, you must install
software on the SERVERA node first. Then complete
the software installation process again for the
SERVERB node.
You must install the ProcessLogix Server on the same
partition on both the primary and backup servers
and that their directory structures match.
For example, if you install the ProcessLogix Server to
C:\honeywell\server on the primary server then it
should be installed to the same location on the
backup server.
Synchronization problems have been encountered
by customers installing the ProcessLogix Server to
C:\honeywell\server on the Primary Server and to
D:\honeywell\server on the Secondary Server.
IMPORTANT
If you plan to use Microsoft Excel Data Exchange,
Microsoft Excel 2000 must be installed before
installing ProcessLogix.
IMPORTANT
The system must be logged on as ps_user to perform
the procedures listed below.
Refer to Creating the ProcessLogix User Accounts on
page 2-26 if you need to create the ps_user account.
