New Functions and Features

Enhanced Foundation
Fieldbus Support

The second phase of Rockwell Automation’s Foundation Fieldbus
support, delivers an FF physical connection mechanism that is suitable
for high availability applications. The product characteristics are
extended from those identified for the Linking Device, which was
introduced in release 310:

Achieves full heterogeneous accommodation of
FOUNDATION™ Fieldbus devices with ProcessLogix.

Integrates building of Fieldbus devices and function blocks into
Control Builder,

Integrates building of Fieldbus function blocks and ProcessLogix
Controller function blocks by Control Builder,

Combines ProcessLogix and FF device tags and parametric data
into a single database.

Supports full access to FF parametric data by Equipment Health
Management applications,

Supports ProcessLogix regulatory, sequential, and logic control
operation with Fieldbus measurement and actuation devices
through both function block (pub-sub, e.g.,
CAS_IN/BKCAL_OUT) and computing device (client-server, e.g.,
RCAS_IN/RCAS_OUT, ROUT_IN/ROUT_OUT) relationships

Supports operational access to field device data.

Supports and Integrates FF Alarms and Events.

Run-Time Monitoring of FF block values directly from the
configuration drawing (as with ProcessLogix blocks).

The integration of Rockwell Automation’s Foundation Fieldbus
into ProcessLogix introduces new hardware components into
the ProcessLogix architecture.

Profibus DP Support

ProcessLogix R400.0 provides PROFIBUS DP (Decentralized
Periphery) support, which is the most frequently used PROFIBUS
communication profile. It is optimized for speed, efficiency and low
