Summary of R400.0 Enhancements to ProcessLogix System
Capacity & Performance
The following R400.0 features could affect the system capacity and
performance:
•
Fieldbus Interface Module Support – The R400.0 ProcessLogix
System supports Foundation™ Fieldbus H1 links via the
1757-FIM, Fieldbus Interface Module.
•
1757-FIMs may reside in a controller chassis or in an I/O chassis.
CDA is used by 1757-FIMs to communicate to the Server,
Controllers, and other 1757-FIMs.
•
Foundation™ Fieldbus devices reside on the H1 links, reducing
computer use and load in an associated controller.
•
New Database Server – The R400.0 ProcessLogix System uses
the Microsoft SQL Server database (instead of MS Access),
permitting larger databases, better scalability, and better
maintainability.
•
Use of Windows 2000 – The R400.0 ProcessLogix System utilizes
the Windows 2000 operating system providing both the Server
and Professional options.
•
Use of Multiple Platforms – The R400.0 ProcessLogix System
utilizes multiple platforms with various and larger capacities
than with earlier releases.
•
Use of HMIWeb HTML-Interface Technology in the Workstation
•
Use of Scripting in the Server
•
Use of standard 1 second history and scanning
•
