Support for popup windows
It is important to note that each Internet Explorer connection uses a
rotary station on the server it is connected to, limiting the number of
concurrent connections possible according to the number of licensed
connections. The browser environment, through its very nature, also
has a number of limitations when compared to Station, such as the
absence of a command zone. The web browser is therefore most
appropriate when casual access only is required; for full operational
capabilities Station should be used.
A link will be added to the installed users Favorite menu which will
bring up information for the HMIWeb Runtime Browser. To bring this
up for other users add a favorite to the following file:
C:\Honeywell\client\station\Displays\BrowserOg.htm
HMIWeb Display Builder
In addition to the existing ProcessLogix Display Builder, this release of
ProcessLogix includes a new product known as the HMIWeb Display
Builder. This builder has very similar functionality to the existing
Display Builder, but it generates displays in the open HTML standard
as opposed to the proprietary DSP file format.
The existing Display Builder is recommended for creating displays for
on process use unless there is a requirement for functionality only
available in the HMIWeb Display Builder.
If HTML displays are used then Pentium 4 PCs are strongly
recommended for best Operator Station performance.
Some of the enhancements to the HMIWeb Display Builder over
Display Builder are:

Greater graphics rendering capabilities, including support for
different graphics file formats and greater number of line styles
•
Creation of pop-up windows that can be displayed in Station
•
The ability to select an object within a group and change its
properties without breaking the group it’s within. You can also
do this with scripts attached to objects within a group
•
The text-based nature of the file format means it is easy to
search & replace information in the display, such as scripts or
point IDs
