b. Key in this path location in the open entry field or use
Browse to navigate to the setup.exe file on the CD.
>D:(or your CD-ROM drive letter)\setup.exe<
c. Click OK.
2. Click Yes in response to the question: Would you like to
upgrade to Windows 2000?
3. At the Welcome window, select the Upgrade to Windows 2000
option and click Next.
4. Select the I accept this agreement option and click Next.
5. Enter your Windows 2000 Professional Product Key and click
Next.
6. At the System Compatibility window, click Next.
The system will warn you about possible system compatibility
issues. On typical Dell Systems, it could report that the Dell
Auto-Shutdown and Thermal Shutdown services are going to be
removed. Depending on your system configuration, other
software, such as the Microsoft Intellipoint Software might be
listed.
7. Click Finish to reboot.
If there is a delay in clicking Finish, setup will automatically
reboot the PC.
After reboot, the installation will cycle through the following:

Installing Devices
•
Network Settings
•
Installing Components
•
Performing Final Tasks.
When completed, the system will automatically reboot.
8. Logon to the system using the ps_user account and password.
9. At the Getting Started with Windows 2000 window, uncheck the
Show this screen at startup checkbox and click Exit.
