Replacing Modules in a Dual-Redundant Controller
Configuration
Follow the instructions in this section to replace modules in a dual-
redundant controller configuration (see Figure 5–2). If you’re replacing
modules in a single controller configuration, see “Replacing Modules in
a Single Controller Configuration,” page 5–2.

The following sections cover procedures for replacing both the
controller and cache module, replacing the controller, and replacing the
cache module.
Note the following before starting the replacement procedures:
n The new controller’s hardware must be compatible with the
functioning controller’s hardware. See the product-specific release
notes that accompanied the software release for information
regarding hardware compatibility.
n The software versions and patch levels must be the same on both
controllers.
n The new cache module must contain the same memory
configuration as the module it’s replacing.
