Displaying the management VRF information

The deletion or modification of the VRF will fail if the specified VRF is currently configured as
the management VRF. Attempting to do so causes the system to return the following error
message.

Brocade(config)# no vrf mvrf

Error - Cannot modify/delete a VRF which is configured as management-vrf

Configuring Management interface under a user defined VRF

You can add the management interface to a VRF instance of your choice. Previously the
management interface was only be a member of a default-vrf in the system and this cannot be
changed.

Configuration steps

1. Define a VRF. Please refer to the NetIron configuration guide for details on how to define a VRF.

Following is an example.

Brocade(config)# vrf mgmt

Brocade(config)# rd 1:1

Brocade(config)# address-family ipv4

Brocade(config)# ip route 0.0.0.0/0 10.25.120.1

Brocade(config)# exit-address-family

exit-vrf

You have now created a VRF named 'mgmt'.

2. Go to the management interface and use the following command to make the management

interface part of the mgmt VRF.

Brocade(config-if-mgmt-1)# vrf forwarding mgmt

You can use the no vrf forwarding xxx command to place the management interface under
default-vrf.

NOTE

By default, the management interface will be in the default-vrf.

Syntax: vrf forwarding

forwarding - enables forwarding on the specified (current) interface

NOTE

You must execute these commands at the interface configuration level, for example,
Brocade(config-if-mgmt-1)#
