Parameterising a device to act as a CAN master
If the initialisation of the system bus and the associated state change from "pre-
operational" to "operational" is not effected by a higher-level host system, the regenerative
power supply module can instead be defined to be a "quasi" master and execute this task.
serves to configure the CAN master functionality of the regenerative power supply
module.
Acting as the CAN master, the regenerative power supply module can change the
communication state of all nodes connected to the bus (broadcast telegram) to
"operational" by means of the NMT telegram "start remote node". Only this
communication state enables data exchange via process data objects.
serves to set a delay time, which has to expire after mains switching before the
regenerative power supply module puts the NMT telegram "start remote node" on the
bus.
Tip!
The master functionality is only required for the initialisation phase of the drive
system.

Note!
A change in master/slave operation (
) will only become effective
• after power-on of the regenerative power supply module
OR
• if the NMT telegram "reset node" or "reset communication" is sent to the
regenerative power supply module.
As an alternative to the NMT telegram "reset node", the device command
= "91: CAN on-board: Reset node" can be used to reinitialise the CAN-
specific device parameters.
