Task 2.1: Ensure TCPIP and LISTNER Are Installed

and Running

Task 2.1: Ensure TCPIP and LISTNER Are Installed and Running

Check that the TCPIP file and its LISTNER program are installed in the current host
system SYSnn subvolume. To learn what SYSnn is running, on the host system:

> sysinfo

Task 2.2: Transfer DSM/SCM PC Files From the SUT to the PC

Load the Planner Interface from the subvolume on the host system where DSM/SCM
will be placed:

1. On the host system, make ZDSMSCM the current subvolume:

> VOLUME $volume.ZDSMSCM

2. Using IXF or a similar method, perform a binary copy of the ZDSMEXE file from

the ZDSMSCM subvolume on the host to a subdirectory called \DSMSCM on the
PC. The subdirectory can be on any drive with sufficient space.

3. On your PC, rename the PC file to ZDSM.EXE.

4. Double-click the ZDSM.EXE file to decompress the DSM/SCM files you just

transferred to your PC.

Task 2.3: Ensure Winsock Is Installed

Ensure Winsock is installed on the PC and that WINSOCK.DLL is in the \WIN,
\WINDOWS, or another directory.

Task 2.4: Run SETUP.EXE

To initialize the Planner Interface on the PC:

1. Double-click the SETUP.EXE file in the DSMSCM directory. DSM/SCM displays the

Setup Logon screen followed by licensing information, and then opens a series of
dialog boxes.

2. Enter the Object Manager server class name (optional); then click OK. The Object

Manager, a host static server class, is the interface server to DSM/SCM for the
Planner Interface and for the remote target system.

3. Enter the Software Product Group type (Shared or Private); then click OK.

Shared lets you share software input and product groups across multiple
clients. Sharing groups permits other planners use the software groups you
create. To share groups, you must indicate it now.

Private ensures that only the planner who creates a group can use it.

Note. After you run ZDSM.EXE, you can delete it to save space. All other files are
required for proper DSM/SCM operation.
