Maintenance Interfaces
The Target Maintenance Interface (ZPHITMI) manages target system databases.
Use the ZPHITMI to manage the target database for the logical target on the host
system. You can perform operator security maintenance only from the ZPHITMI
(and not from the ZPHIHMI).
From either Maintenance Interface, you can:
Add new target systems to DSM/SCM
Manage the DSM/SCM archive, databases, profiles, and target systems.
Bring new systems into the DSM/SCM environment:
View, modify, and list system profiles
Manage volumes for DSM/SCM use on a target system
Perform database administration to ensure the efficient operation of the
DSM/SCM database:
Cancel exclusive access to certain DSM/SCM database items for users or
requests that have checked out software inputs, configuration revisions,
the configuration manager profile, or a system profile
Move a DSM/SCM database from one volume to another
Delete DSM/SCM requests
Entering the Maintenance Interface
To begin a Maintenance Interface session on either the host or a target system:
1. Check that DSM/SCM is already started. See
2. Check that you are in the ZDSMSCM volume:
> VOLUME $vol.ZDSMSCM
where vol is the volume containing the DSM/SCM TSV.
3. At a TACL prompt, enter one of:
DSM/SCM displays the Maintenance Interface Logon screen. See
Note. If you are using multiple logical targets on a system, always run DSM/SCM from the first
ZDSMSCM subvolume installed on the target system, from which INITENV was run, to ensure
that the correct installation files are used. You can also run STOPSCM from the same
ZDSMSCM subvolume if DSM/SCM has finished processing all of its tasks.
