Maintenance Interfaces

Below these windows is an area called the parking lot. After submitting a request, you
can minimize its status window. The icon for the minimized status window appears in
the parking lot. You can restore the status window to check the status of a request at
any time during the session. For more information on managing requests, see

Section 16, Managing Requests

.

At the top of the window is the Planner Interface menu bar. Select commands from the
menus to perform most tasks in the Planner Interface.

Exiting the Planner Interface

To exit the Planner Interface:

1. Select File>Exit.

For each open window containing unsaved changes, DSM/SCM displays a dialog
box warning that unsaved changes will be discarded if you exit. For example, if you
open a new software revision and change the product list but do not save the
changes, those changes are lost.

2. In the warning dialog box, click one of these buttons:

3. If you have no further DSM/SCM activities to perform, stop DSM/SCM. See

Stopping DSM/SCM

on page 2-3.

Maintenance Interfaces

DSM/SCM has two Maintenance Interfaces to manage the archive and databases.
Both interfaces are similar block-mode interfaces and do not require a PC. They can
run on any NonStop character-based terminal or terminal emulator that supports block-
mode display. By default, DSM/SCM and the internal HP NonStop Pathway/TS
components it requires are set up such that the ZPHIHMI must run on the host system
and the ZPHITMI must run on the target systems. However, you can change the
PATHMON configuration to remove this restriction.

The Host Maintenance Interface (ZPHIHMI) manages the archive and the host
database. You can perform these tasks only from the ZPHIHMI (and not from the
ZPHITMI):

Maintain configuration manager profiles

Maintain planner security

Register a physical target system

Manage software input checkout

Manage the archive

Yes

To discard any changes

No

To save the changes

Cancel

To cancel the exit
