Running SPRCHECK
1. Check that you are in the ZDSMSCM volume:
> VOLUME $volume.ZDSMSCM
volume
is the volume containing the DSM/SCM TSV.
2. Run the SPRCHECK macro:
> RUN SPRCHECK [ OUT /out-file/ ] supnote sysh-file
out-file
is the printer, spooler, or file location to send the SPRCHECK output to. If
omitted, SPRCHECK output appears on your screen.
supnote
is the Support Note for the RVU you are running. SPRCHECK uses this
Support Note as the source for the list of recommended SPRs or SPRs for
special consideration for which to check your system.
sysh-file
is the DSM/SCM history file (syshnnnn) on your system.
The organization of the SPRCHECK output depends on the version of Support Note
being checked against. In both output formats:
Indentation of products is the same as in the Support Note.
The SPR listed is the requisite SPR for the RVU for which you are running
SPRCHECK.
The SPRs are categorized based on critical need or potential significant benefits.
The newer output separates SUT-based products and Independent Products.
