3. Select Maintain>Target maintenance>Initialize target system.
4. Click Profile. DSM/SCM Displays the Naming the Target dialog box.
5. From the Naming the Target dialog box:
a. Enter a descriptive target name.
b. Click OK. DSM/SCM displays the target Information dialog box.
6. From the target Information dialog box, configure the target profile as needed.

7. Load the SUT onto the tape drive.
8. Click the Software in Archive window.
9. Select Maintain>Target maintenance>Initialize target system.
10. Receive the RVU software into the archive. For descriptions of each option,

11. After you receive software into the archive, select the target from the Configuration
Revisions window.
12. Select Maintain>Target maintenance>Initialize target system.
13. From the Initialize target system dialog box, click Software. DSM/SCM displays a
new software revision window containing the product list.
14. From the Software in Archive window:
a. Select the RVU you just copied to the archive.
b. Click Copy to. DSM/SCM copies the contents of the RVU to the new revision.
15. If a warning appears, choose to continue or cancel.
16. Select Maintain>Target maintenance>Initialize target system.
17. From the Initialize target system dialog box, click Build/Apply. DSM/SCM saves
the new software revision, then displays the Indicate Type of Build dialog box.
18. Indicate the type of Build to send.
HP strongly recommends that you build an initialization Build/Apply. After
reinitializing a system, you must do perform an initialization build/apply before you
Note. When a Gxx SUT that contains both the heap manager products (T8431 and
T1269) is copied to the new software revision, the Heap Manager Selection dialog box
is displayed. This feature is supported only on systems running G06.29 and later
G-series RVUs. After selecting the desired heap manager product, click the Continue
button to copy the SUT to the new software revision. To cancel the Copy to operation,
click the Cancel button.
