Disabling Traces
Host database managers check for this file each time they start up or receive a
request, so the trace file is not created until a host database manager receives a
request. Trace files are named ZZDHnnnn and stored in the ZDSMSCM subvolume.
Only limited tracing is available for host database managers, mainly to track database
queries regarding whether a system generation is required for Build/Apply procedures.
Enabling Object Manager Tracing
To enable the Object Manager Tracing:
1. Run STOPSCM.
2. Create files with names TRACECHK and TRACEOM at location
$DSMSCM.ZDSMSCM
.
3. Run STARTSCM.

Disabling Component Tracing (Planner Interface)
You cannot disable tracing for a server component that is active. If a request is using
one of these components, you must either cancel the request or wait until it completes
to disable the trace.
1. Select Tandem>Support info>Server trace. DSM/SCM displays the Server Trace
dialog box.
2. Clear the check box of the component.
3. Click OK to disable tracing of that component.
Disabling Tracing Of All Planner Interface Activities (Planner
Interface)
Select Tandem>Support info>Planner Interface trace. Tracing stops.
Note. Trace files will be created at location $SYSTEM.ZDSMSCMT.
