privileged declarations files

privileged declarations files. A set of files containing data structures and calling

sequences for use by customers when writing privileged code to make direct use of
some set of system resources.

privileged process. A process that performs privileged operations, such as direct use of a

set of system resources or invoking callable procedures.

process ID (PID). A number that uniquely identifies a process. It consists of the processor

(CPU) number and the process identification number (PIN).

process identification number (PIN). A number that uniquely identifies a process running

in a processor. The same number can exist in other processors in the same system.

processor type. The type of system on which the software runs:

product component. Either a base version of a product (such as G01) or an SPR to the

base version (such as ABG). Product components are part of a configuration revision
and are the smallest unit a planner can manipulate.

product version update (PVU). A set of files required for a particular version of a product.

A PVU consists of a base version and 0 or more SPRs; for example, T9050G01 or
T9100G01+AAA+AAB.

profile. Default values that DSM/SCM uses when processing requests. The three types of

profiles are:

The Configuration Manager profile contains information about DSM/SCM in
general, such as where the archive and databases are located and which systems
are part of DSM/SCM.

The system profile contains information about the system itself, such as the host
system name and whether the system uses an Expand network connection.

The target profile contains such items as the input configuration (CONFTEXT) file
name, the output location for reports and the activation package, and TSV location
specifications.
