Task 3: Specifying Product or File Information

Task 3: Specifying Product or File Information

From the DSV Information dialog box, you can enter or modify information about the
product and its files. The fields are described in the online help. The boxes on the DSV
Information dialog box correspond to product attributes.

1. To add or change information in the A0CINFO file:

Product information, enter the information in the boxes in the DSV Information
dialog box.

Product dependency information, go to

Specifying Product Dependencies

on

page C-8.

Information for the product files, go to

Specifying File Information

on page C-9.

2. When you have finished all changes, click OK. DSM/SCM returns to the Select

DSV Location dialog box.

Specifying Product Attributes

If the A0CINFO file already exists, DSM/SCM initializes all data fields with the current
data. To change or specify product attributes in an A0CINFO file, enter values in data
fields in the CNFGINFO dialog boxes:

Attribute

Description

Product Name

Required; descriptive name of the product, up to 20 characters; for
example, COBOL.

Product Version

Required; the product number and version ID, up to 8 characters. For
example, T9199D20 indicates an HP product. (Although no checking
is done, customers should not use product numbers beginning with
characters reserved by HP, such as T and S.)

Product Description

Optional; up to 45 characters describing the product’s use.

Product Vendor

Name of the supplier of the product, up to 31 characters. The value
you specify for Product Vendor is placed in the DSMSCM.INI file on
your PC. That value becomes the default, so you do not need to
reenter the vendor name each time you create an A0CINFO file.
