Using the DSM/SCM Interfaces
DSM/SCM includes these interfaces:
Planner Interface
The Planner Interface is a PC-based graphical user interface to DSM/SCM that
communicates with the host system. You can use it to receive software into the
DSM/SCM archive and to build and package new software configurations for target
systems. It contains Maintenance and Target Interface (ZPHITI) functions and can
usually be used instead of them. You can perform most DSM/SCM activities using the
Planner Interface, including:
Receive software into the archive
Create a software revision
Build and apply a configuration revision
Receive a target snapshot into the host database
Set up target systems, including creating profiles for each target
Produce detailed reports about defined configurations
Organize related software into groups for easier management
Maintain host system and volume
Maintain profile information for host and target systems
Monitor submitted requests that initiate DSM/SCM activities
