Configuration Manager Profile
Table 17-1. Configuration Profile Information
Parameter
Description
Default tape drive
Select a tape drive name from the list or enter a tape drive name.
Specifying the node name is optional. The default is the host system
node.
You must specify a drive that is compatible with your SUTs and with
the other systems in your network. For example, if a host system uses
a cartridge tape drive, its target systems must also use cartridge
drives.
By default, DSM/SCM uses this tape drive on the host for any task
that requires a tape. For example, DSM/SCM uses this tape drive for
software received on tape and for any activation packages and
snapshots written to tape. You can override the default when you
submit a DSM/SCM request.
Number of days to
retain request
This parameter specifies the number of days that completed or
canceled requests are kept in the DSM/SCM database. These
requests are deleted at the end of the retention period. Typically, three
to five days is sufficient. (Your site might dictate a particular period to
satisfy specific auditing requirements.) The default is 14 days.
Default output
location for files
exported from the
archive
Select a name from the list or enter a volume name. Specifying the
node name is optional. The default is the host system name.
Default file output
location for reports
and softdocs
DSM/SCM sends reports and softdocs formatted for online viewing to
this location. You must enter the volume and subvolume. Specifying
the node name is optional. The default is the host system node.
Spooler or file

Default spooler
output location to
which DSM/SCM

Specifying the node name is optional. The default is the host system.
If you simply enter a location of [\node.]$device, DSM/SCM appends
#DEFAULT to the location name.
Set the Compress
Software in
Archive flag
Specify whether to compress software stored in the archive. Make
sure your entry matches what you specified in INITENV.
