Enabling Traces
Enabling Tracing of All Planner Interface Activities (Planner
Interface)
Select Tandem>Support info>Planner Interface trace. The menu item is selected,
and tracing starts. Trace information is written to the file PITRACE.LOG.
Enabling Component Tracing (ZPHIHMI or ZPHITMI)
1. On the main menu, enter 99 (Trace) in the Selection Number field; then press F1.
DSM/SCM displays the Trace screen.
2. Enter 1 in the Selection Number field.
3. In the displayed format, enter a disk location for the trace output.
4. Press F1.
Enabling Component Tracing (ZPHITI)
1. At the ZPHITI main menu, enter 9 (Enable trace) in the Selection number field;
then press F1.DSM/SCM displays the Enable Trace screen.
2. Select the DSM/SCM component to be traced, and enter the corresponding
number in the Selection Number field.
3. Enter a trace output location in the format (DSM/SCM supplies the file name):
\system.$volume.subvolume
If you selected number 1, 2, or 3, enter a target system location in the Target
trace output location field.
If you selected number 4, enter a host system location in the Host trace
output location field.
If you selected number 9, enter host and target system trace output locations in
the Host trace output location field and the Target trace output location
field, respectively.
4. Press F1.
DSM/SCM begins tracing the execution of the selected component and sends the
trace output to the specified file.
Enabling Host Database Manager Tracing
Create a TRACEHDB file in the ZDSMSCM subvolume:
> CREATE [[$volume.]ZDSMSCM.]TRACEHDB
Note. Be sure to specify a trace output location that already exists.
