Checking History

When a problem arises, check the revision history and the status of requests to find the
last successful activity completed.

Checking the Revision History

1. From the Planner Interface, select the software revision you were working on in the

Configuration Revisions window.

2. Select File>Show revision history. Review past revisions and their current state.

Checking Requests

1. From the Planner Interface, select the software revision you were working on in the

Configuration Revisions window.

2. Select Requests>Requests list. Look for failed or incomplete activities. If any

requests are outstanding, cancel, delete, or complete them. For more information
on restarting, canceling, deleting, or reviewing the status of requests, see

Section 16, Managing Requests

.

Checking Error Messages

Error messages provide valuable information about the cause of a DSM/SCM problem.
You can access error messages from several sources. You can use the planner
interface or ZPHITMI to check error messages. Remote target activity does not appear
in the planner interface but can be accessed through the ZPHITMI.

1. Check for errors.

2. Review and address all associated errors.

3. After identifying an error, see these manuals for cause, effect, and recovery

information:

DSM/SCM Messages Manual for DSM/SCM errors. Advanced DSM/SCM
users can also review the $ZPHI log files.

SQL/MP Message Manual for SQL errors.

TS/MP Pathsend and Server Programming Manual and the TS/MP System
Management Manual
for Pathway errors.
