Printing EMS Messages
2. Select Requests>Show other EMS events. DSM/SCM opens the DSM/SCM
Server Events dialog box, which displays the EMS events.
3. To update this dialog box with current information, click Refresh.
To display EMS Messages not related to the current request from ZPHITI:
1. Log on to the ZPHITI
2. From the Show EMS Messages screen, press F4 (Show nonrequest-related
errors). DSM/SCM displays the Show Non-Request-Related Errors screen.
Printing EMS Messages
From the Show EMS Messages or Show Non-Request-Related Errors screen, enter a
disk location or spooler name in the Message text location field, and press F9. For a
disk location, use the format:
\system.$volume.subvolume.filename
For a spooler location, use the format:
\system.$collector.#location
For a description of EMS messages related to DSM/SCM, see the DSM/SCM
Messages Manual.
Checking System Generation Errors
If a problem occurs during system generation, the errors are written to the system
generation output file. The location of this file for each target is designated in the
system generation defaults. (See
Setting the Target System Generation Defaults
Checking Workstation Error Log Files
You can check the error log files that reside in the same directory as ZDSM.EXE (or
ZDSMSCM.EXE):
PIERROR.LOG is the error log file for the Planner Interface.
CIERROR.LOG is the error log file for CONFGINFO.
Checking Pathway Errors
Check for PATHWAY errors that are logged but not displayed to the screen. The $YPHI
process logs Pathway messages to $vol.PATHSCM.PATHLOG, on the volume where
ZDSMSCM resides.
To examine the log, use the FUP COPY command to copy the file to another file or
spooler location with the SHARE option if $YPHI is still running. For more information
on the FUP COPY command, see the File Utility Program (FUP) Reference Manual.
