SPANNING-TREE LOOP-GUARD

Syntax

spanning-tree loop-guard

Parameters

None

Mode

Port Interface mode

Description

Use this command to enable the BPDU loop-guard feature on a port. If a
loop-guard enabled port stops receiving BPDU packets, the switch
automatically blocks the port to prevent a loop from occurring. The port
remains in the blocking state until it begins to receive BPDU packets again
or the switch is reset. The default setting for BPDU loop-guard on a port is
disabled.

Note

This command is applicable only when RSTP or MSTP is enabled.

To disable the look guard feature on a port, use the NO SPANNING-TREE
LOOP-GUARD command.

Confirmation Command

“SHOW RUNNING-CONFIG” on page 116

This example activates the BPDU loop-guard feature on ports 1.0.1 to
1.0.48:
