Parameter

Specifies a description of 1 to 72 alphanumeric characters for a
port. Spaces and special characters except exclamation marks (!)
and question marks (?) are permitted.
Mode
Port Interface mode
Description
Use this command to add a description to a port on the switch or overwrite
the existing description with a new description.

Example
This example assigns the description “Connected to S2 on the 3rd floor” to
port1.0.15:
awplus> enable
awplus# configure terminal
awplus(config)# interface port1.0.15
awplus(config-if)# description Connected to S2 on the 3rd
floor
