dialer string
This command creates a string used to place a call a destination or subnet. Typically, it is the
telephone number needed for dialing.
Syntax
dialer string dial-string [class class-name]
Syntax of the “no” Form
no dialer string dial-string
Mode
Interface configuration:
XSR(config-if<xx>)#
Example
This example shows that dialer interface 0 configured to use map‐class XXX when using dialer
string 9055559988:
XSR(config-if)#interface dialer 0

dialer wait-for-carrier-time (interface configuration)
This command configures the time a dialer interface waits for a carrier signal. It is used when
configuring a particular dialer interface.
Syntax
dialer wait-for-carrier-time seconds
Syntax of the “no” Form
The no form of this command resets to default value:
no dialer wait-for-carrier-time
Default
60 seconds
Mode
Interface configuration:
XSR(config-if<xx>)#
dial-string
Phone number to be sent to a dial device.
class-name
Map class associated with this dialer string.
seconds
Interval the interface waits for a carrier signal when a call is placed via the dial device.
