Enter port type ?

Enter the number corresponding to the type of port desired to define. After
defining the port type, the communications platform provides default parameters.

If the incorrect port type has been entered or changing a port from one type to
another is desired, when the list of port parameters is displayed, press ESC and the
above menu is displayed for the port in question.

If changing a port type, all the parameters for that port, including any address
information, are cleared.

Depending on the software modules purchased, not all port types are displayed on
the screen. Also, there is a software option for the Asynchronous Terminal type
which allows it to either emulate a Unisys terminal or allows a Unisys terminal to
connect to a TTY (UNIX) host. The parameters for each port type are described in
the protocol chapters of this manual.

Special Port Configuration Commands

Three commands in the port configuration allow copying, moving, or swapping a
port's configuration. These commands are accessed by first choosing Port
parameter from the previous menu. The following appears.

(? for help) >Port #

Typing P instead of a digit from 1 to 6 gives access to the following commands:

MOVE.

This command moves the existing port configuration to a free port. This

command moves all the port parameters and the corresponding addresses to the
destination port. If the destination port is not free, the command is rejected.

COPY.

This command copies the configuration of an existing port to a free port.

This command duplicates all the port parameters and the corresponding addresses
to the destination port. If the destination port is not free, the command is rejected.
