Logical

Device

The setting of this parameter is determined by the opposite end of the link. If this
port is connected to a X.25 network (PDN) then a setting of DTE is required.
When the port is required to simulate a network (PDN), it should be set as DCE.
The selections are DCE and DTE.

The setting of this parameter is at a logical level. There is no connection with the
physical DTE/DCE setting of the port.

When connecting TXPORT units back to back one port must be DCE while the other is set as
DTE.

Recovery

Counter

The Recovery Counter parameter indicates the maximum number of times a
request frame can be transmitted and not answered before a failure is declared. The
selections are 1 to 255, 3.

Retransmission

Busy Counter

While a remote station is in a busy state, the X.25 port polls the number of times
specified in the Retransmission Busy Counter waiting for the busy condition to
clear. If it does not clear after all attempts have been issued, a failure is declared.
The selections are 1 to 255, 10.

Multilink

This parameter allows for multiple physical links to be viewed as on a logical link.
There are no recommendations on multilink operation, therefore, it is not
supported. This parameter must be set to No. The selections are Yes and No.

Modulo

The Modulo parameter determines how the Level 2 frames are numbered. A setting
of 8 indicates frames are numbered from 0 to 7. When set to 128, frames are
numbered from 0 to 127. The selections are 8 and 128.

Window

This parameter specifies the maximum number of unacknowledged frames that
may exist on the link. The maximum value for this parameter is calculated by
subtracting 1 from the MODULO setting. The selections are 1 to 7 if Modulo is 8
and 1 to 127, 7 if Modulo is 128.

T1 Timer

This value is the time the unit waits for a response to a message. This value must
be greater than the T2 TIMER. The selections are 1 to 255, 3.

T2 Timer

The T2 timer represents the maximum time during idle periods that a response
may be delayed before an acknowledgment must be sent. This value must be less
than the T1 TIMER. The selections are 1 to 255.
