Line Module
Enter the line module number of the port to be copied.
Port
The number of the source port to be copied from is entered here.
After these fields have been filled, press F10. This redisplays the port using the
copied values.
Baud
Rate
The Link Speed parameter sets the port speed in bits per second. Auto means
automatic baud rate detect. The communications platform detects the terminal
speed when Enter is pressed twice for speeds between 1200 bps and 9600 bps. If
the unit is running at a speed not listed here, contact TXPORT technical support.
The selections are Auto, 300, 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, and 38400.
Bits per
Character
The Character Length parameter allows using characters with 7 or 8 data bits. The
selections are 7 and 8.
Termination
The Link Termination parameter specifies the termination type used to
communicate with the terminal or modem. The selections are DCE and DTE.
RTS/CTS
Control
The RTS/CTS Control parameter determines how the communications platform
reacts to the RTS and CTS signals. Setting this parameter to On saves a few
milliseconds on each transmission, so it should be used. If problems are
encountered with the On setting, use Dynamic. A setting of Floating is not
recommended. The selections are Dynamic, On, and Floating.
Parity
The Parity parameter determines how parity error checking is performed.
Asynchronous terminals usually use even parity. The selections are None, Even,
and Odd.
Full
Duplex
Setting the Echo Mode parameter to Yes causes the communications platform to
echo back all the characters received on the port. The selections are Yes and No.
Flow
Control
This parameter selects the method(s) of controlling the flow of data between the
terminal and the unit. Selections may be combined. An entry of XD initiates both
Xon/Xoff and DTR flow control. Valid selections are X - Xon/Xoff, D - DTR, C -
CTS, and N - None.
