Port
The port field indicates the number of the port being displayed. A different port
may be selected by entering its number here and pressing F10.
Description
This is a free-form field intended to describe the location or department this port
services.
Copying from different port types is allowed. Pressing F7 initiates the copy process.
Host Address
Enter any valid Poll/Select address in this field. There should be one entry for each
station that connects to this host port. If the host is using group poll, there must
also be an entry reflecting that address with the group option turned on. If a station
is using the conversion option on the terminal port, the connecting address should
be entered here.
Group Address
Under normal conditions the host group polls the 9111 unit with one group
address. In this case the group address field may be left blank. There may be
situations, however, that require the 9111 to respond with messages from certain
groups of stations based on the group address received. In this case, the stations
should be entered with their associated group address. This forces the 9111 to send
in only messages for those stations when their group poll is received.
Auto Connect Station Name
To establish a connection from the host port to a remote station, the name of the
station should be entered here. Either the C - Auto Connect On Select or F - Auto
Connect On Link Active option must be turned on for the connection to initiate.
Most of the time, however, the connection is established from the terminal using
the Default Host parameter.
