Port
The port field indicates the number of the port being displayed. A different port
may be selected by entering its number here and pressing F10.
Description
This is a free-form field intended to describe the location or department this port
services.
Copy Port Parameters
The three fields on this line work together to allow copying an existing port
configuration to the current port.
Configuration.
Enter the configuration number where the stations to be copied
reside.
Module.
This parameter represents the line module number in the source unit.
Port.
Enter the port number where the source stations reside.
Copying from different port types is allowed.
Host Address
Enter any valid Uniscope address in this field. There should be one entry for each
station that connects to this host port. If the host is using group poll there must
also be an entry reflecting that address with the group option turned on. If a station
is using the conversion option on the terminal port, the connecting address should
be entered here.
Auto Connect Station Name
To establish a connection from the host port to a remote station, enter the name of
the station here. Either the Connect on Select or Connect on Link Active options
must be turned on for the connection to initiate. Most of the time, however, the
connection is established from the terminal utilizing the Default Host parameter.
Options
A. Timeout for Offline Device.
When set to Y, the controller times out when a poll
or select is received for an off-line station. The normal setting is N. See page 178
for further information.
B. Flush Data for Offline Device.
When set to Y, the controller acknowledges data
for an offline device and then flushes the data. The normal setting is N. See page
179 for further information.
C. Auto Connect upon Select.
When set to Y, the controller tries to establish a
logical connection to the device name in the Auto Connect Station Name field
when it receives a select for that address. This field must be set to Y for shared
printers in a multi-host environment. The normal setting is N. See page 179 for
further information.
D.
This option is not used.
