End of

User Field

The End of User Field character parameter specifies a character used by the host to
signify where the operator should stop entering text. The user field character, when
issued, bypasses the normal user field length, forcing an end of field at the cursor's
location. The selection is any printable ASCII character. The default is the less
than (<) character.

User

Terminator

If the Input Terminator field is set to U (user-defined), the hex value of the ASCII
termination character should be entered here. The selections are a hexadecimal 00
to FF. The default is blank.

Output

Terminator

The output terminator determines whether additional character is added to
messages before they are transmitted. The selections are as shown in Table 6-6..

Include

Terminator

When set to Y, an input terminator character is included in the message sent to the
remote device. When set to N, it is not included. The selections are Y (yes) and N (no).

Inactivity

Timer

The Inactivity timer is the time, in minutes, that no data can be present on the port
before the unit disconnects the line. This is used primarily in dial-up applications.
Line disconnection is done by lowering the DTR signal for 500 milliseconds and
then raising it again. Entering 0 disables this feature. The selections are 0 to 255.

Input

Terminator

Timeout

The value in this field represents the timer (in milliseconds) when the input
terminator is set to T (timeout).

The values for this parameter are in 10-millisecond increments. A value that is not
a factor of 10 rounds down to the nearest 10-millisecond factor.
Example: A value of 105 rounds down to 100 milliseconds.

The selections are 10 to 2550, 100.
