CU Address

This field should be filled in with the EBCDIC hexadecimal value of the CU
address for the station. The selections are hexadecimal 40, 4A to 4F, 50, 5A to 5F,
C1 to C9, and D1 to D9.

Device Address

This field should be filled in with the EBCDIC hexadecimal value of the device
address for the station. The selections are hexadecimal 40, 4A to 4F, 50, 5A to 5F,
C1 to C9, and D1 to D9.

Auto Connect Station Name

To establish a connection from the host port to a remote station, then the name of
the station should be entered here. Either the connect on select or connect on link
active options must be turned on for the connection to initiate. Most of the time,
however, the connection is established from the terminal using the Default Host
parameter. If this is the case, leave this field blank.

Options

A. Timeout for Offline Device.

When set to Y, the controller times out when a poll

or select is received for a station that is offline. The normal setting is N. See page
178 f
or further information.

B. Flush Data for Offline Device.

If this option is set to Y and the host port is

notified the device has gone offline, it continues to acknowledge data from the host
and discard the data. This option is used to eliminate traffic on the link for inquiry
only devices and also in dial situation where a device may be disconnected before
logging off. This option should only be used when a loss of data does not
adversely effect the station. See page 179 for further information.

C. Auto Connect Upon Select.

When set to Y, the controller tries to establish a

logical connection to the device name in the Auto Connect Station Name field
when it receives a select for that address. This field must be set to Y for shared
printers in a multi-host environment. The normal setting is N. See page 179 for
further information.

D.

F.

This option is not used.

G. Auto Connect on Link Active.

When set to Y this option causes the controller to

try to establish a logical connection to the device named in Auto Connect Station
Name when the host link becomes active. The normal setting is N. See page 181
for further information.

H.

This option is not used.

I. Flush Output Data for Offline Device.

When set to Y, the unit flushes queued

buffers for a station that has gone offline. This refers only to output buffers
destined to be sent to the host.
