Host Address
Any valid NCR address may entered in this field. There is one entry for each
station on this port. If the host is using group poll there must also be an entry
reflecting that address with the group option turned on. If a station is using the
conversion option on the terminal port, the connecting address should be entered
here.
Auto Connect Station Name
To establish a connection from the host port to a remote station, enter the station
name here. Either the Connect on Select or Connect on Link Active options must
be turned on for the connection to begin. Most of the time, however, the
connection is established from the terminal using the Default Host parameter.
Options
A. Timeout for Offline Device.
When set to Y, the controller times out when a poll
or select is received for an offline station. The normal setting is N. See page 178
for further information.
B.
This option is not used.
C. Auto Connect upon Select.
When set to Y, the controller tries to establish a
logical connection to the device named in the Auto Connect Station Name field
when it receives a select for that address. This field must be set to Y for shared
printers in a multi-host environment. The normal setting is N. See page 179 for
further information.
D.
This option is reserved for internal use.
E. Non-SMF.
When set to Y the TXPORT device supports NCR 2262, 270, and
ATMs that are not using the SMF record format.
This option is available on firmware version 2.56 and later.
F. Non-NCR.
When set to Y, the TXPORT device supports NCR 2262s that are not
using the NCR host TA2 addressing. (TA2 and the Select Address are the same).
This option is available on firmware version 2.56 and later.
G. Auto Connect on Link Active.
When set to Y, this option causes the controller to
try to establish a logical connection to the device named in Auto Connect Station
Name when the host link becomes active. The normal setting is N. See page 181
for further information.
