Line
Module
This field indicates the line module number of the displayed port. Entering a
different line module number and pressing F10 transfers the screen to the same
port on the new line module.

Parameters
Configuration
The fields on this line work together to allow copying an existing port
configuration on the current port.
Module
This parameter represents the line module number in the source unit.
Transport
Layer
Used (UDP)
This field indicates the transport layer used by SNMP to communicate with the
management system. This field should contain the setting U. It is reserved for
future use.
IP Address
for Traps
The IP address to send traps allows the sending of trap messages to the designated
manager address. This address should correspond to the IP address of the host
running the SNMP manager. If NULL, no traps are generated.
Community
Name
This field corresponds to the value in the SNMP header validating the request
received from a manager system. The default is public.
Sys
Name
This field is a free-form field that can be used to identify the MultiPro unit. The
default is enterprises.txport.pdc.
Sys
Contact
This field is a free form field that can be used to provide information about the
equipment provider. The default is TXPORT (800) 926-0085, (205) 772-3770.
Sys
Location
This field is a free form field that can be used to provide information about the
physical location of a particular equipment such as the city and the state. The
default is No location specified.
Delete SNMP
Application
Setting a Y in this field and pressing F9 or F10 removes the SNMP application
from the configuration.
Configuring
the SNMP
Stack
To enable the SNMP agent in a TXPORT platform, configure the SNMP stack
application. The SNMP stack is composed of SNMP, UDP, IP, and the Ethernet
driver.
The following screens show how to configure SNMP. The IP addresses of the unit
are 1.1.1.1 and the IP Address of the SNMP Host Manager is 1.1.1.10.
