Bridge Applications
285
In large networks, LAN connections should be grouped into clusters, which in turn are
connected back to a central site if necessary. A common application of this idea is in
networks where nodal sites are connected to a national and regional cloud. Figure 17-7
illustrates this point and is followed by NMCS screens of the remote bridge lists.
The remote bridge lists for units 003 and 004 are the same. They both connect to
unit 002. Unit 002 not only connects to both units, 003 and 004, but to unit 001 as
well. This allows all the LANs to communicate.
