Message Delivered Timeout

The Message Delivered Timeout field defines the amount of time, in seconds, that
an internal task waits for a response from an external device such as a host or
terminal. The values are decimal numbers from 1 to 30, 15.

PCC Unit Number

The PCC Unit Number parameter is used when the NMCS provides the network
control functions. If many units are connected together, they can be accessed from
the console of any unit from a single location, providing that each unit has a
unique PCC unit number. See Remote Console Configuration Tips on page 398 for
more information. The values are hexadecimal numbers from 000 to FFF.

Netcontrol Host Name

This parameter identifies the port, by name, to which all network control messages
are sent. Even if network control is not being used, this field must be the name of
a valid host within the network. If this parameter is not correctly set, the unit does
not respond to its hardware or download address. The choices for this parameter is
an ASCII string of up to 17 characters. The default is a null string.

Connect Command

The Connect Command parameter is normally used only for units connected to
more than one host system. However, an entry of some type must be made. The
command, when entered at a terminal, logically connects that terminal to a host.
For example, if the command is ?HOST and the host name is BLUE, a terminal
can connect to this host using the following.

?HOST BLUE

Note that this message is processed by the local unit and is not transmitted to any
other unit or host in the network. The choices for this parameter is an ASCII string
of up to six characters. The default is CONNEC.

Disconnect Command

This command logically disconnects a station from the host to which it is currently
connected. The station is then in an unusable state until it issues a Connect
Command. For example, if the command is ?DISC, the following could be entered.

?DISC

The choices for this parameter is an ASCII string of up to six characters. The
default is DISCON.

Send Message Command

The Send Message Command parameter allows messages to be sent from one
terminal on the communications platform to another without first being routed to a
host. For example, if the command is ?SEND and the terminal receiving the
message is XYZ, a terminal can send a message using the following.

?SEND XYZ(XMIT)

HELLO THERE(XMIT)

The choices are an ASCII string of up to six characters. The default is SENDTO.
