Manual

Branding elements that are defined as “manual” are updated whenever a
configuration is loaded that contains those elements or when you find and
select the content from a list and then press

Update Now, which will

force the

content deployment.

Automatic

Branding elements that are defined as “automatic” are monitored automat-
ically in the Content Gateway and anytime the file is changed, it is automat-
ically ingested, converted to the proper format and deployed with no
manual intervention required.

Playout Management

Playout Management is the process of recalling branding elements from the
Channel Branding storage media, and then loading the associated keyer or
audio mixer in preparation for playout or assignment.

Items about playout to which you should be aware:

Branding elements are played at their produced screen size and aspect
ratio, no image scaling is provided.

Still image and animation branding elements are loaded to the screen
position and opacity defined in the associated branding element config-
uration.

Audio branding elements use the ratio that is specified in the Audio
Ratio field of the Content Definition table. This field is specified when
the Audio Clip is defined.

Once a branding element has been loaded to a keyer or audio mixer, the
default screen location or audio mix ratio may be modified by the operator
prior to placement to Air.

When using automation, the branding elements are recalled using the auto-
mation input associations that are defined during Configuration.

Element Playout

Element Playout is the Maestro system activities that are associated with
playing the previously loaded branding element and placing the resulting
content to the Program (PGM) bus or to Air.

Branding element playout begins when the associated bus or keyer transi-
tion is executed.
