The profile tool edit panel (named “
Toolset 1.Tool 5 Edit
” in Figure 7.119)
contains several parameter selection fields and buttons, which are described
briefly as follows:
•
Operation –– This field provides access to the selection of one of the five
profile tool “operations.” The default profile tool operation is
Position
,
which is a feature (“edge”) location operation.
•
Direction –– Use this field to pick either the
X
or the
Y
direction. This
selection determines the axis on which the profile tool will perform its
measurements. The default selection is “
X
” (for the X axis).
•
Filter 1 –– Use this field to pick any one of eight gray scale morphology
filters (or “
None
”) to be applied on the profile image, according to the
requirements of your application. The default selection is
None
.
•
Filter 2 –– This field has the same function as the
Filter 1
field. When
filters are selected in both fields, the
Filter 2
filter will be processed after
the
Filter 1
filter.
•
Nominal –– When you pick this field, the currently selected and
configured profile tool performs a test operation, and the resulting
inspection results data appear in this field. The type of results data
depends on the selected profile tool operation. The initial value is 0.000
or 0, according to the selected profile tool operation.
•
P&P –– The
button provides access to the “pick and place” function
for the profile tool. For details about this function, see Chapter 5, Pick
and Place Functions.
•
Thresh –– The
button accesses the threshold adjustment function
and the morphology filter selection panels. For details about the
morphology filter functions, see Chapter 8, Thresholds, Filters, and
Morphology.
•
Feature A, Feature B –– The
and
buttons access the
“feature” selection panels for the “A” and “B” features on the profile. The
button is active only when the “
Distance
” operation is selected
for the profile tool.
•
Ranges –– The
button accesses the range–selection panel, which
defines limits for profile tool inspection results.
•
Done –– When you pick the
button, the system exits back to the
toolset edit panel.
