Second Pass Configuration
The second pass configuration procedure for the feature finder tool is
identical to the same procedure for the reference window tool. Refer to the
Second Pass Configuration section of Chapter 6, page 6–46, for details.
Max. Number: Limiting Feature Recognition
The
Max. Number
selection enables you to limit the number of features that
the feature finder tool recognizes, thereby improving the tool’s efficiency and
conserving system memory.
Nominal (“Learn”) Function
The number appearing in the
Nominal
field after you pick it indicates the
number of features that matched the stored template, within the limit
imposed by the
Max. Number
setting in the tool edit panel. Thus, if six
features could match the stored template, but
Max. Number
were set to 4,
then the maximum “learn” number would be limited to 4.
When you pick the
Nominal
field, the
Feature Locations
panel appears in
the display, as shown by the example in Figure 7.87. At the same time, the
search window and one or more feature windows appear over the image. In
this example, all six of the dark objects in the search window have been
matched; thus, all six objects show feature windows.
Figure 7.87 illustrates the appearance of the
Feature Locations
panel and
the windows when using the “
Stop When First
” parameter.
