Two Pass –– This field is active only after a destination buffer is assigned
to a window tool. When
Two Pass
is enabled, the window tool performs
a second image processing pass, during which it eliminates inside border
pixels that are actually artifacts of the morphology processing used on the
first processing pass. (The destination buffer appears in Figure 7.24 as
“
P1
” under the “
Dest.
” in the toolset edit panel. Note that while this
buffer is required for
Two Pass
operation, it is also available to other
tools as an alternate
S1
image source.)
•
Window Shape –– Use this field to pick one of five window shapes,
according to the requirements of your application.
•
Fast Unwrap –– This field is active only when the
Arc Ring
window
shape is selected. When enabled, the “unwrap” function operates faster,
but requires about 1K bytes more memory.
•
Mask Shape –– Use this field to pick one of three mask shapes, when
appropriate for your application. The default selection is
None
.
•
Mask Mode –– Use this field to pick either the
Dynamic
or the
Static
mask mode. The difference is that the dynamic mode runs somewhat
slower, but uses less image memory; whereas, the static mode runs faster,
but requires more image memory. The default selection is
Dynamic
.
•
Nominal –– When you pick this field, the currently selected and
configured window performs a test operation, and the resulting inspection
results data appear in this field. The type of results data depends on the
selected window operation. The initial value is 0.
•
P&P Window –– The
button activates the window pick and
place function. For details about this function, see Chapter 5, Pick and
Place Functions.
•
P&P Mask ––– The
button activates the window mask pick and
place function.
•
Thresh/Filter –– The
button accesses the threshold and/or
morphology filter selection panels. For details about this function, see
Chapter 8, Thresholds, Filters, and Morphology.
•
Ranges –– The
button accesses the range–selection panel, which
defines limits for window inspection results.
•
Target –– The
button is active only for object–counting window
operations. When you pick this button, you access the cursors that set the
high and low area limits for the inspected objects.
•
Done –– When you pick the
button, the system exits back to the
toolset edit panel.
