Reserves for gearboxes
Rated torque M
rated,out
at the gearbox output end
If the rated torque M
N,out
is exceeded sporadically for a short time, this is not critical if the maxi-
mum value is smaller than 2*M
2perm
.
• However, if this happens repeatedly, the "fatique strength" is affected and the life of the gear-
box is partly reduced.
• Furthermore, the "Alternating load factor K
W
" has to be considered.
peated load cycle with regard to toothed gearboxes
• Exceeding 2*M
2perm
is to be avoided in any case (even if it occurs only occasionally), because the
service life of the gearbox is heavily reduced by this.
Average input speed (thermal limit)
Exceeding the thermal limit leads to increased stress of gaskets and lubricant, which results in a re-
duction of the useful life.
Maximum input speed
This value is above the average input speed. Exceeding the max. permissible input speed leads to an
extremely high and damaging stress of gaskets and lubricant, which causes a significant reduction
of the useful life.
Stop!
Any operation in the range of the fatique strength affects the gearbox!
If accordingly high load cycle numbers are reached, massive damage, for example tooth
or shaft breaks is possible!
