Making Stereo Pan Adjustments With the Audio Mixer
You can use the panning sliders in the Audio Mixer to make adjustments to the stereo
placement of clips in audio tracks that have been assigned to stereo output channels.
Panning sliders appear in a track’s track strip, below the mute and solo buttons. Like
adjustments made to audio faders, adjustments made using a track’s panning slider
only affect the stereo imaging of the clip that appears at the position of the playhead,

Panning sliders have different behaviors depending on the output channel that a track is
assigned to, and whether the clip has stereo or dual mono audio. For more information

Stereo Versus Dual Mono Output Channels
The output channel a track has been assigned to dictates whether or not stereo pan
is possible for audio clips appearing on that track. If a track is assigned to a stereo
output channel, the panning slider for that track is enabled. Otherwise, the panning
slider is disabled.
Stereo Versus Dual Mono Audio Clips
When two tracks are assigned to a stereo output channel, and a pair of linked stereo
clip items is placed on those two tracks, you can use the panning sliders in the
corresponding track strips in the Audio Mixer to control the stereo pan.
