This feature displays the connection topology of the Vess R2000 subsystem. Topology refers to the manner in
which the data paths among the enclosures are connected. There are three methods:
•
Individual Subsystem
– A single subsystem
•
JBOD Expansion
– Managed through one subsystem or head unit
•
RAID Subsystem Cascading
– Managed through one subsystem or head unit

To view enclosure topology:
1. From the Main Menu, highlight
Subsystem Management
and press
Enter
.
2. Highlight
Enclosure Topology
and press
Enter
.
The following information applies to the Head Unit:
•
Enclosure number
– 1
•
Controller number
– 1 or 2
•
Port number
•
Status
– OK is normal. N/C is not connected
• Link Width
The following information applies to RAID cascaded units or JBOD expansion units:
•
Connected EnclWWN
– The subsystem identified by its World Wide Name (WWN)
•
Connected (Encl,Ctrl,Port)
– The subsystem’s enclosure, controler,
and port numbers where the data connection was made
• If there is no connection, the value shows N/A.
