Section 2 — Controls

The

Rotate

button assigns the Joystick to control the rotation of the image

around the X,Y, and Z axis. Control is different for Target and Source
modes. This button permits you to rotate only ±180 degrees between key-
frames. Rotations are in revolutions (1.0 = turn around one complete time
= 360 deg.)

Tally Information All transform function buttons are mutually exclu-
sive—turning one on turns another off.

The

Locate Axis

button assigns the axes of rotation of an image source or

target. The Joystick is then used to locate the axes anywhere on or off the
screen. The direction the axis moves depends on which reference axis is
selected. Unlike the Locate 3D function which moves both the picture of the
image and the axis of rotation at the same time,

Locate Axis

moves only the

axis of rotation. The picture is not moved.

Tally Information All transform function buttons are mutually exclu-
sive—turning one on turns another off.

Press twice to jump to the Axis Lock menu located in the

View

Top Menu.

This lets you lock (or unlock) the axis to the picture so that when you
perform a transform the axis keeps the same spatial relationship to the pic-
ture.

The

Spin

button lets you to program multiple rotations about an axis.

Spin

assigns the Joystick to control the X, Y, and Z spin of the image. Control is
different for Target and Source modes. The spin number is the number of
rotations.

Tally Information All transform function buttons are mutually exclu-
sive—turning one on turns another off.

The

Menu Control

button assigns the Joystick to control parameters in the

current menu. Moving the Joystick left and right (X axis) changes the first
(top) soft knob parameter. Moving the Joystick forward and backward (Y
axis) changes the second soft knob parameter. Rotating the Joystick (Z axis)
controls the third soft knob parameter.

Tally Information —

Menu Control

has two states: off, meaning the Joy-

stick is controlling transforms; and high tally, which indicates the Joy-
stick has been delegated to the current menu.

The

Skew

button assigns the Joystick to control the skew of the image in X

and Y. The Z-axis is disabled in skew.

The

Aspect

button assigns the Joystick to control the scale of the image in X,

Y and Z. The Z-Axis control duplicates the Z control of the

Size/Locate

button. When scaling any component of the picture, the center of rotation
maintains its proportion to the picture.
